Gefen – Kiddush Cup
Handmade in Tel Aviv, Israel
Dimensions: 20 x 10 x 8 cm
Gefen—the Hebrew word for grapevine—evokes both the fruit of the vine and the spiritual symbolism rooted in Jewish tradition. This handcrafted Kiddush cup merges contemporary Judaica with a deep connection to local identity and Tel Aviv’s architectural heritage.
The form is inspired by the iconic silhouettes of Tel Aviv’s water towers, capturing the city’s visual language—a dialogue between eclectic history and modernist clarity. Embedded within the structure, the Hebrew word גפן is not merely inscribed but sculpted into the form itself. The typography becomes three-dimensional, transforming the Hebrew letterforms into architectural elements—fusing language, faith, and design.
A celebration of Hebrew culture and craftsmanship, Gefen is more than a ritual object; it is a modern heirloom that carries memory, meaning, and material beauty in every curve.
