Food Performance

Food Performance

A sculptural ceramic project that explores the performative act of eating through sensorial and bodily gestures. The collection includes a series of handmade utensils—tools that extend the body and activate movements such as licking, smearing, scooping, and scraping. These gestures echo primal and ritualistic actions that challenge traditional table etiquette and redefine the dining experience.

Each object is carefully designed and crafted in Tel Aviv by Avi Ben Shoshan. The work investigates the emotional and physical interaction between human and vessel, blending contemporary ceramic practice with timeless human behaviors. The pieces are both functional and conceptual, inviting reflection on the sensory and cultural aspects of nourishment.
