Plates for Democracy
Plates for Democracy / Sale Exhibition
Curator: Ravit Lazer / Benyamini Contemporary Ceramic Center
Democracy, equality, and freedom of expression are the essence of creativity—and the foundation of the Benyamini Center.
In 2023, during a time of political upheaval in Israel, the Benyamini Center invited approximately 300 designers and artists to leave their personal mark on ceramic plates, as a collective statement in support of democracy.
The plates were exhibited and sold for 400 NIS each. All proceeds were donated to the "Black Flags" and "Bonot Alternativa" organizations—both actively involved in the struggle for democracy and civil rights in Israel.
This project was both a creative protest and a powerful act of solidarity—transforming everyday objects into symbols of resistance, hope, and civic responsibility.

Each piece/ project is created slowly by hand and designed to live naturally within its architectural setting. Whether for a private home, a public building, or a hospitality space. Every project is developed specifically for its environment, creating a timeless and thoughtful integration between art, material, and interior design.
